That’s why the Stevens Accounting & Analytics (A&A) major emphasizes the large and growing role analytics plays in this industry. Well before Stevens students sit for their CPA exams, they are taught the business and accounting fundamentals alongside the data analysis techniques demanded by employers. Stevens faculty work closely with big 4 accounting firms to ensure the curriculum aligns with real-world needs. 

Students complete the A&A major able to apply techniques in modeling, forecasting and data visualization to the traditional accounting skills set, making them highly desirable job candidates at both large and small accounting firms, and within the accounting departments of Fortune 500 companies. How does the Accounting & Analytics major incorporate AI?

The School of Business has introduced new Applications of AI Lab courses across its undergraduate majors. Accounting and Analytics students take AI Applications in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering and Accounting, which provides hands-on experience using artificial intelligence and financial data.

Students will work with generative AI applications and financial databases to complete analytical tasks in finance and accounting and learn how AI is increasingly being used in professional practice.

In addition, every Stevens undergraduate completes three 1-credit Stevens AI and Emerging Technology Lab courses, with topics that may include Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Science and Analytics, Biotechnology, Sustainability, and Quantum Computing.

How can I finish my bachelor’s degree in three years and use the fourth year to earn a master’s degree?

Stevens has developed a three-year bachelor’s degree plan for eligible students who enter with 24 or more college credits earned through AP and dual-enrollment coursework in high school.

With careful academic planning and by applying eligible incoming credits toward degree requirements, students may be able to complete their undergraduate degree in three years and use their fourth year to pursue a master’s degree, creating the opportunity to earn both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in just four years.
