Thirteen Northrop Grumman Corporate Students Receive Masters

As part of Stevens’ School of Systems and Enterprises’ robust corporate education program, 13 employees from Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Engineering segment in Rancho Bernardo, Calif., were officially presented with certificates in recognition of their completion of the Stevens Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering degree program on Feb. 25.

This cohort of employees and Northrop Grumman leaders participated in a formal dinner and ceremony organized by Carol Ruiz, director of online and corporate engagement for the School of Systems and Enterprises. The event was held at The Country Club of Rancho Bernardo in San Diego. SSE lecturer Earl Sprague represented SSE and spoke at the event.

The School of Systems and Enterprises has partnered with Northrup Grumman Aeronautics since 2006, with 21 cohorts totaling 387 participants across eight locations throughout the U.S. Additionally, SSE collaborates with other NGC segments such as Mission Systems and Space Systems. Corporate cohorts consist of 12-25 NGC employees who as a group take courses for 10 consecutive semesters to earn the Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering degree. This NGC Aeronautics cohort began in 2019 and therefore, due to COVID, experienced the change from In-person to virtual class sessions.

These graduate courses are instructed by SSE professors with both industry and academic experience. The cohort experience facilitates team building and the expanding of the employees’ network within the company. Employees can share examples that are related to what they are doing within NGC Aeronautics.

Visit SSE’s Corporate Education website for more information about the program.
